Fishy Tom Bagnall Bar Complete Rig – 2/0 Pennel

The Ultimate Distance Casting Rig!

The Fishy Tom Bagnall Bar Complete Rig is a ready-to-fish, distance-casting rig built exactly the way I use it myself when targeting rays, cod, smoothounds, bass and other larger shore species.

At the heart of the rig is the Bagnall Bar, designed to create a streamlined, clipped-down presentation for casting while keeping the rig simple, effective and easy to use. Combined with an Imp and stainless steel cascade swivel, the complete setup clips down neatly for the cast, helping you achieve the distance that can make all the difference when fishing from the shore.

The business end features my preferred 2/0 pennel setup, combining a 2/0 Octopus circle hook with a 2/0 Kamasan B950U. This gives you a versatile two-hook arrangement that's ideal for presenting substantial baits such as squid, fish baits, crab, sandeel and combinations of these when targeting bigger fish.

The rig is tied using 0.50mm Maxima Chameleon, giving a great balance of strength, abrasion resistance and reliability without making the finished rig unnecessarily heavy or cumbersome.

Each complete rig comprises:

• Bagnall Bar
• Imp
• 0.50mm Maxima Chameleon
• Stainless steel cascade swivel
• 2/0 Octopus circle hook
• 2/0 Kamasan B950U hook

Ideal for rays, cod, smoothounds, bass and a wide range of other shore species.

Most importantly, this isn't simply a rig I've put my name on. It's tied using the components and setup I actually fish with myself. If you've watched me using a Bagnall Bar rig in my videos, this is the ready-made version of that setup.

Tie it on, bait it up, clip it down and cast — the rest is up to the fish!
